This pretty pile of bones came at the heavy price of a sacrificed virgin, sad to say.
After a long night of strategy changes to Sindragosa and a lot of grumbling we came back the next day with renewed spirit, a thirst for vengeance, and a virgin on the altar. Surprisingly enough this seemed to be a great recipe for one shotting an undead dragon.
So is the lost of a virgin worth it?
I think so, not only is the path to The Lich King open to us, but we can start collecting Shadowfrost Shards as well.

Heroic: Twin Valkyrs killshot

Despite the lack of a retribution paladin and enhance shaman in the raid we were able to kill the Twin Valkyrs tonight on Heroic 25 difficulty. *hint hint*

It was quite the entertaining path that lead us to this victory. We had the same melee heavy faction champions composition for five weeks in a row, which we now kill with confidence. We had our Ventrilo server fail on us, to which we thank the now former Erebus for letting us use their server. Finally we had a great conversation about switching targets. Through all of the fire and flames (yes I’m listening to Dragonforce right now) we were able to get our kill. I’m sure we would have gotten this kill sooner if I wasn’t so stubborn about using Blood Lust, but hey I guess the women are always right… right?

Congratulations to Ölrun, Thant, Seoir, and Onnon on their new iLevel 258 loot.

Congrats to Zenmetsu on [Shoulderpads of Vehemence], Ninetysix on [Sin'dorei Pendant of Conquest], Lucrola on [Grip of Mannoroth], Lunch on [Archon's Gavel], and Eir on [Boots of the Forgotten Conqueror] and [Shroud of Redeemed Souls]. That’s alot of loot!

With a force of priests not seen since The Exorcist, FA pulled off an extremely clean first kill on Felmyst. There are a lot of different obstacles to overcome on this fight. Firstly, you need to say a massive prayer of healing in hopes that enough priests show up to cover the ridiculous amount of dispels required for this fight. Secondly, you have to hope that everyone stands exactly in the correct spot so they don’t get blown up by the mini-nuclear explosions that their teammates give off from time to time courtesy of Encapsulate. And Lastly, you have to hope that your directionally challenged raid leader can tell the difference between South and North… and sometimes, the new addition to the cardinal directions: “Really Far South.” You also need to hope that you don’t hear a melancholy cry over vent exclaiming, “Oh shit, I ran into the poo gas. Someone kill me.” – a phrase I now have etched into my brain for all time.

Felmyst, despite the obligatory misspelling of a “y” instead of an “i” that all fantasy characters must have in their names, is actually pretty fun and easy if she decides to behave. However, we’re all looking forward to a fight that will fulfill every girl on girl fantasy we could ever dream of: the Eredar Twins. Just the thought of mixing it up with those two is getting me all hot and bothered already, in a weird, cartoon-character-with-horns sort of way. Sexy-ish.

Grats to Skotty on his [Boots of the Forgotten Vanquisher], Traumatize and Ninetysix on their [Boots of the Forgotten Conqueror], Nailz on his shiny, new [Borderland Fortress Grips] and everyone else on your consolation prizes: 2x [Badge of Justice]. Woo!

We decided to finally engage him, normal style.

This silly fight is fairly straightforward. Do 10 million damage to a big fatty in 6 minutes, or he gets big and red and squishes your raid. He also has pretty high armor, presumably, stemming from that impenetrable piece of wood he has hanging around his neck,( /shrug) which makes doing aforementioned DPS significantly difficult. This did not stop Zakazul, however, who managed to pull off an astounding 2503 DPS on our kill attempt. Grats to you on that.

We’re looking forward to attending the priest jamboree, otherwise known as Felmyst. Grats to Sintez on his [Reign of Misery] and Totemsz, Glau and Myself for [Belt of the Forgotten Protector]

After our PTR kill almost a month ago, we were a bit rusty on this fight, however after a little while of spam clicking portals and blowing up our friends with portal splash, we finally were able to kill the parasitic demon growing in Kalecgos’ ample belly.

Its been really great to be raiding new content again, feeling the cool breeze of new and exciting loots on our faces, and the excitement of first kills running through our veins. I’ll not lie, its been a tough last couple of months, making our weekly trips to the stingy glaive vendor seem almost like work. But if Illidan is work, then Sunwell is our pretty young red-haired intern that makes us want to start working out again.

Also, a personal thank you to Nailz, who managed to tank Kalecgos without heals for ~10 seconds during a portal mishap. What a beast!
